SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of Raymond Lawrence Larsen of Waukegan, who 
4passed away on December 11, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was born on May 7, 1916; he was a 
6lifelong resident of Waukegan; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen served his country with pride and 
8distinction during World War II; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was a third generation florist, 
10horticulturist, and business man; in later years, he was a 
11cattle rancher and world traveler; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was a member of the Rotary Club of 
13Waukegan; he was also a member of Christ Episcopal Church and 
14enjoyed participating in the "Honest John's Club"; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen was preceded in death by his first 
16wife, Edna Larsen; his second wife, Laura Larsen; his sisters, 
17Dorothy Rice and Shirley Greene; and his brother, Larry Larsen; 
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Raymond Larsen is survived by his son, John (Kaye)

1Larsen; his daughter, Karen (Peter) Lucas; his grandchildren, 
2Katie Larsen, Brooke (Tory) Eide, John Paul (Andrea) Larsen, 
3and Lars (Julie) Lukas; and his 7 great grandchildren; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7his family and friends, the passing of Raymond Lawrence Larsen; 
8and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Raymond Larsen as an expression of 
11our sympathy.
