SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Joan Marilyn Baker of Cape Coral, 
4Florida, who passed away on January 18, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Joan Baker was born in Chicago; she was the 
6daughter of Leo and Hilda Cain; she married her late husband, 
7Robert E. Baker, in 1948; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Joan Baker resided in Chicago for many years until 
9her move to Cape Coral, Florida in 1987; she was fondly known 
10as "The General" by her family and friends because of her 
11strength and perseverance; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Joan Baker was preceded in death by her parents; 
13her husband of 58 years, Robert; her sons, Robert and Thomas; 
14and her sister, Nancy Karich; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Joan Baker is survived by her children, Julie 
16(Bob) Dob-ski, William Baker, Jill (Tom) Lensegrav, Joy Baker, 
17Daniel Baker, and Roger (Shawn) Baker; her grandchildren, Craig 
18(Anna), Brian (Mona), Steven, Jimmy, Laura, Kyle, Kevin, Erin 
19(Derrick) Williams, Jennifer, and Heather; her 6 
20great-grandchildren; and her sister, Audrey Yacullo;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3her family and friends, the passing of Joan Marilyn Baker; and 
4be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Joan Baker as an expression of our 
7sympathy.
