SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Evelyn Logan of Lincoln, who passed away 
4on March 27, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on October 15, 1927 in Elkhart, the 
6daughter of Charles and Jessie Mae De Frates Sloan; she married 
7Edgar L. Logan on May 22, 1949 in Lincoln at her parents home; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church; a 
10chaperone for Good News Publishing Co. Church Choir; Sunday 
11school superintendent of Lincoln Christian Church; volunteer 
12at Jefferson School Library; a member of Harvest of Talents; 
13Deaconess at Lincoln Christian Church; and a member of the 
14Sarah Circle; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, She was named  Citizen of the Month by the Lincoln 
16Courier; she tutored second and fifth grade students; she was 
17on the Board of Education for 18 years for Lincoln Elementary 
18School District #27; and she was President of the Community 
19Concert; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her 
21brothers, Stephen "Bud" and Robert Sloan; her sisters, Helena

1"Sis" Hurley, Margaret Newberry, Gladys Aper, and Hope 
2Klockenga; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Evelyn Logan is survived by her husband; her sons, 
4Lee (Barbara) Logan, Roy Logan, and John (Becky) Logan; her 
5brother, Chuck (Mary Ann) Sloan; her sister, Helen Singley; her 
64 grandchildren; and her 2 great-grandchildren; therefore, be 
7it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
10her family and friends, the passing of Evelyn Logan; and be it 
11further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Evelyn Logan as a symbol of our 
14sincere sympathy.
