SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Rose Mary Walton of Lockport, who passed 
4away on March 15, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rose Mary Walton was born in Lockport and was a 
6lifelong resident; she graduated from Lockport Township High 
7School in 1943; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Rose Mary Walton worked at the Fairmont Food 
9Pantry; she was formerly employed at the Fashion Shop, Robert 
10Hall, and the Joliet Arsenal; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Rose Mary Walton was a lifelong member and former 
12first lady at Shiloh Baptist Church; she was also a member of 
13the Lebanon District Baptist Association and a former secretary 
14at the National Baptist Association; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Rose Mary Walton was preceded in death by her 
16parents; her husband, Rev. J.W. Walton Sr.; her son; her 6 
17sisters and 3 brothers; her grandson; and her son-in-law, 
18Wilbur Meeks Jr.; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Rose Mary Walton is survived by her devoted 
20children, Arnetta Meeks and Kevin Walton; her stepson, J.W.

1Walton Jr.; her 25 grandchildren; her 20 great-grandchildren; 
2her 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Jyme Towns; her 
3brother, Earl Chandler; and her brothers-in-law, John Hickman, 
4John Baker, and James Woods; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7her family and friends, the passing of Rose Mary Walton; and be 
8it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Rose Mary Walton as an expression of 
11our sympathy.
