SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Harold Patrick Graham of Shorewood, who 
4passed away on April 7, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Harold Graham was a proud graduate of the 
6Cathedral of St. Raymond School, Joliet Catholic High School, 
7and Lewis University; he later served as a Trustee at Lewis 
8University; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Harold Graham served his country with pride as a 
10member of the Illinois National Guard; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Harold Graham and his wife were the founders of HP 
12Graham Construction Company in 1969; his love of building roads 
13expanded into developing real estate in Illinois, Florida, and 
14Hawaii; most recently, he proudly worked with a group of local 
15friends to found First Community Bank; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Harold Graham was a lifelong Joliet resident and 
17member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond Parish, where he ushered 
18noon Mass for many years; he was also a lifelong member of the 
19Knights of Columbus and Joliet Elks Lodge and served on the 
20Parent Board and Board of Trustees at his daughters' alma 
21mater, St. Mary's Notre Dame; and

1    WHEREAS, Harold Graham is survived by his wife of 44 years, 
2Patricia (Liker); his daughters, Colleen (Thomas) Dow and 
3Christine (Matthew) Gambs; his grandchildren, Katie Dow and 
4Charlie and Michael Gambs; and his mother-in-law, Clara Liker; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
8his family and friends, the passing of Harold Patrick Graham; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Harold Graham as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
