SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Kenneth L. Edwards of Pittsfield, who 
4passed away on June 4, 2012; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on August 18, 1939 in Springfield, the 
6son of Abner C. and Lillian E. Yancy Edwards; he married Janet 
7Heavner on April 17, 1965 in the Pearl Christian Church; he was 
8of the Methodist faith; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, He graduated from Western Illinois University and 
10was a member of the Sigma Phi Fraternity while in college; he 
11was a teacher at Divernon High School; he also worked as a 
12Petroleum Specialist                                       with Gromark in Bloomington and as a 
13Regulatory Administrative Manager with Gromark; he was the Pike 
14County Code Hearing Officer for 10 years, and was also the Pike 
15County Zoning Officer; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, He was a member of the American Feed Association, 
17the National Rifle Association, and the Pike County Tea Party; 
18he served on the property tax appeals board and served as a 
19Pearl Township Trustee; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, 
20photography, traveling and going to national parks, and 
21Labrador Retrievers; and

1    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas; 
2and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Kenneth Edwards is survived by his wife, Janet; 
4his sons, Chad (Beth) Edwards and Thomas Edwards; and his 
5daughter, Jeanne Edwards; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
8his family and friends, the passing of Kenneth Edwards; and be 
9it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Kenneth Edwards as a symbol of our 
12sincere sympathy.
