| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
Myrtle H. Grant, who passed away on June |
| 4 | | 24, 2012; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was born on February 8, 1921, in Wood |
| 6 | | River; she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Caroline |
| 7 | | (Neff) Friederich; she married Gaylen R. Grant on August 20, |
| 8 | | 1949, at St. Bernard's in Wood River; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Prior to having her children, Myrtle Grant was |
| 10 | | employed at her father's grocery store, "Friederich's", in Wood |
| 11 | | River; she also worked at Shell Oil and the First National Bank |
| 12 | | of Alton; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic |
| 14 | | Church for 60 years; she was also involved with the RCIA |
| 15 | | Program and the Arms of Love; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant enjoyed swimming, biking, the |
| 17 | | outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Myrtle Grant was preceded in death by her parents; |
| 19 | | her husband, Gaylen; and her brother, Leo Friederich; and |
