| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Mork of Wheaton, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on May 29, 2012; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He was born December 8, 1953 in Chicago and spent | ||||||
| 6 | his early childhood years there and in California; he attended | ||||||
| 7 | Wheaton Central High School and was captain of the football | ||||||
| 8 | team; he graduated from Wheaton College, where he met his wife | ||||||
| 9 | of 34 years, Lorraine; he went on to the John Marshall Law | ||||||
| 10 | School to earn his law degree; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, He demonstrated his skill as an attorney early by | ||||||
| 12 | serving as a law clerk for Illinois Supreme Court Justice | ||||||
| 13 | Howard Ryan; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, He was a resident of Wheaton for 45 years; he | ||||||
| 15 | served as an attorney and advisor to the DuPage County Forest | ||||||
| 16 | Preserve District, working for the stewardship of local | ||||||
| 17 | conservation efforts; as a Wheaton City Councilman from 1993 to | ||||||
| 18 | 2005, he served his hometown, working to revitalize the | ||||||
| 19 | downtown area; he was a partner at Kuhn, Mitchell, Moss, Mork, | ||||||
| 20 | and Lechowicz in Naperville; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Serving as the DuPage County Public Guardian, he | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | cared for the well-being of the disabled and most vulnerable; | ||||||
| 2 | in each of his positions of responsibility he assumed and | ||||||
| 3 | pursued an ethic of good government worthy of the public trust; | ||||||
| 4 | and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He was a deeply committed family man; he was a | ||||||
| 6 | Notre Dame fan to his core and took great pride in his 3 sons | ||||||
| 7 | who attended the university; on a gameday Saturday in the fall, | ||||||
| 8 | there is no place he would rather have been than on campus with | ||||||
| 9 | his family; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, He was a Corvette enthusiast, and one of his | ||||||
| 11 | greatest joys was going for drives with his wife; vacations and | ||||||
| 12 | holidays were times he cherished with family trips to Florida; | ||||||
| 13 | his Christian faith guided his care for and upbringing of his | ||||||
| 14 | family, instilling in his sons virtues of forgiveness, | ||||||
| 15 | sacrifice, integrity, and service of others; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Robert Mork is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his | ||||||
| 17 | sons, David (Kirsten), Brian, and Christopher; and his sisters, | ||||||
| 18 | Liz (Kevan) Thorwall and Wendy (Russ) Austin; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 21 | his family and friends, the passing of Robert Mork; and be it | ||||||
| 22 | further

| 1 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 2 | presented to the family of Robert "Bob" Mork as a symbol of our | ||||||
| 3 | sincere sympathy.
