SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express 
3their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Matthew 
4"Steve" Mezger of North Chicago, who passed away on July 10, 
52012; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, He was born on April 3, 1954, in Corona, 
7California; he married Josephine Bena on January 7, 1978, at 
8Holy Rosary Church in North Chicago; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, He retired from Civil Service at Great Lakes in 
102001 after 15 years of employment; he was a member of Queen of 
11Peace Church in North Chicago; he enjoyed music, playing the 
12piano and the guitar, spending time with his grandchildren, 
13watching sports, swimming, roller skating, watching old 
14movies, a good political debate, and going to the beach with 
15his children; and
  
 

  
16    WHEREAS, The passing of Matthew "Steve" Mezger has been 
17deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Josephine; his 
18children, Jennifer (John) Price, Jackie (Brad) Moon, Julia 
19(Josiah) Jones Jr., Jamie (Ben) Donovan, Judy Mezger and 
20Matthew Mezger Jr.; his grandchildren, Hailey, Abby, Evan, 
21Emily, Josiah III, Joey, Julian, and Matthew III; his brother, 
22William (Sandra) Mezger; his sisters, Lillian and Cecilia

1Mezger; and his nephew, Steve Mezger; he was preceded in death 
2by his parents; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
5Matthew "Steve" Mezger and we extend our sincere condolences to 
6his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to his family as an expression of our deepest 
10sympathy.
