SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were deeply 
3saddened to learn of the death of James Demetrios Gountanis of 
4Green Oaks, who died at the age of 65; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, James Gountanis was born in Nestani, Tripoleos, 
6Greece, to Konstantinos and Evagelia; he was married to Athina 
7(nee Arfane); and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, James Gountanis was the owner and operator of 
9GOJOS restaurant in Waukegan; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, James Gountanis was preceded in death by his 
11mother-in-law, Katerina Arfane; and

  
 
12    WHEREAS, James Gountanis is survived by his wife, Athina; 
13his children, Constantine, Angela (Christopher) Syregelas, 
14George, and Niko; his parents, Konstantinos and Evagelia (nee 
15Boorantanis); his grandchildren, Emily and Athena; his 
16brothers, Nick (Penelope) and Chris (Maryann); his 
17father-in-law, George; his brothers-in-law Savvas (Nana) and 
18Petro (Georgia) Arfane, Evagelia (George) Painesis and 
19Efstathia (Dimitri) Mastrantonis; and his many nieces and 
20nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3James Gountanis, and we extend  our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to his family as an expression of our deepest 
8sympathy.
