SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply
3saddened to learn of the death of John P. Hoffman, Sr., who
4passed away on September 28, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John P. Hoffman, Sr. was born on November 23,
61930, to Peter and Jeannie Hoffman in Aurora; he was married to
7Bernice for 61 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John P. Hoffman, Sr. owned and operated Valley
9Floor Covering, Inc. for many years; he was a member of Holy
10Angels Church for 60 years, and was also a member of the Moose
11Lodge #400; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John P. Hoffman, Sr. was preceded in death by his
13parents, Peter and Jennie (Lies) Hoffman and by his brother,
14Joseph Hoffman; and
 
15    WHEREAS, John P. Hoffman, Sr. is survived by his wife,
16Bernice (Clemens) Hoffman; his children, Terence (Mary)
17Hoffman, Patricia (James) Peal, Peter (Sally) Hoffman, Thomas
18(Cindy) Hoffman, Timothy Hoffman, Sue (Jim) Smith, John (Lori)
19Hoffman, Jr., and Andy (Lisa) Hoffman; his grandchildren,
20Terence (Kate) Hoffman, Jr., Melissa (Robert) DuBois, Ryan
21Hoffman, Thomas (Laurie ) Laver, Sara (Andrew) Lines, Peter

11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13John P. Hoffman, Sr., and we extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of John P. Hoffman, Sr. as an
18expression of our esteem and respect.
