| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply | ||||||
| 3 | saddened to learn of the death of Marc Victor Burnett of | ||||||
| 4 | Peoria, who passed away on September 20, 2012; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Marc Burnett was born on February 3, 1953, in | ||||||
| 6 | Belleville at Scott Air Force Base, to Victor and Patricia | ||||||
| 7 | (Vannice) Burnett; he married Ann Powers on February 25, 1984; | ||||||
| 8 | and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Marc Burnett was the director of marketing for the | ||||||
| 10 | Peoria Civic Center (PCC) since 2000; he was "the face" of the | ||||||
| 11 | PCC and was an integral part of bringing to life the Broadway | ||||||
| 12 | Theatre Series, WorldFest, and many community organizations, | ||||||
| 13 | including the W.D. Boyce Council of Boy Scouts of America, the | ||||||
| 14 | WCBU Associate Board of Directors, the WTVP, the ICC, the | ||||||
| 15 | Peoria Players, and the Corn Stock theatres; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Marc Burnett was a Eucharistic minister and lector | ||||||
| 17 | at Holy Family Church and active in Cursillo and TEC; he | ||||||
| 18 | founded the Peoria Civic Center Student Advisory Program; he | ||||||
| 19 | touched countless lives with his musical talent and | ||||||
| 20 | performances, ranging from basement jams and recordings to | ||||||
| 21 | original music scores for family weddings and festival | ||||||
| 22 | performances as the Burnett Family Singers; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Marc Burnett was an avid outdoorsman and sports | ||||||
| 2 | enthusiast; he was fond of Long's Peak and the St. Louis | ||||||
| 3 | Cardinals; he coached several youth sports teams for nearly a | ||||||
| 4 | decade; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Marc Burnett's sense of humor and exuberance | ||||||
| 6 | endeared him to friends around the world; he will be remembered | ||||||
| 7 | for his one-word outlook on life: "Bueno!"; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Marc Burnett was preceded in death by his brother, | ||||||
| 9 | Patrick; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Marc Burnett is survived by his wife, Ann; his | ||||||
| 11 | sons, Ty Michael and Van Powers Burnett; his brothers, Rick, | ||||||
| 12 | Terry, Kelly (Anita), Chris (Connie), and Johnny (Susan); his | ||||||
| 13 | sisters, Viki, Lisa, Val (Dave Berry), and Jenny (Bob | ||||||
| 14 | Parkhurst); and his numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be | ||||||
| 15 | it

| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 18 | Marc Burnett, and we extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
| 19 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further
