| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply |
| 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Anna Theodora Schalz, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 28, 2012; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Anna Schalz was born on May 2, 1914, in St. |
| 6 | | Charles to Micalena and Martin Laurinas; she attended Holy |
| 7 | | Angels School and graduated from St. Therese Grade School; she |
| 8 | | married John C. Schalz on May 7, 1930; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Anna Schalz and her husband operated the Schalz |
| 10 | | Meat Market in Aurora and became instrumental fixtures in their |
| 11 | | community; she worked for 24 years as a housekeeper at |
| 12 | | Sunnymere Retirement Home; she retired in May of 1997, at the |
| 13 | | age of 83; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Anna Schalz enjoyed helping her grandchildren |
| 15 | | deliver papers, pulling weeds, attending band concerts, |
| 16 | | dancing a spirited polka, and cheering on her grandchildren and |
| 17 | | great-grandchildren at their sporting events; she was a |
| 18 | | long-time member of St. Therese and Holy Angels Parishes; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Anna Schalz was preceded in death by her husband, |
| 20 | | John C. Schalz; her sisters, Stella Smith, Anne Connolly, and |
| 21 | | Susan Cibulskis; her son-in-law, Robert Wrona; and her |
