| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are deeply |
| 3 | | saddened to learn of the death of Eugene O. Adkins of |
| 4 | | Carlinville, who passed away on November 21, 2012; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, |
| 6 | | to Eugene Monroe and Audrie Barringer Adkins; he graduated from |
| 7 | | Saint Louis University with a degree in biology and chemistry |
| 8 | | in 1949; he was in the U.S. Army Air Corps and worked for |
| 9 | | Anheuser-Busch in the New York area; he married Claire Ann |
| 10 | | Kiely on August 2, 1952; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins settled in Carlinville and was a |
| 12 | | farmer and co-owner of Adkins & Marko Construction; he was |
| 13 | | involved in several community ventures, including the Lions |
| 14 | | Club, Jaycees, the Macoupin 912 group, the Ss. Mary and Joseph |
| 15 | | Building Committee, and the boards of Carlinville Public |
| 16 | | Schools and Farmers and Merchants Bank; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins enjoyed spending time with his wife, |
| 18 | | playing racquetball, tennis, having coffee with the "Macoupin |
| 19 | | County Yacht Club", and spending time with family and friends; |
| 20 | | and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Adkins is survived by his children, Barry |
