Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Private College Act. Prohibits post-secondary educational institutions from including the following in any data reported to the Board of Higher Education, for marketing or advertising purposes, on its Internet website, or in any of its publications: (1) recent graduate employment lasting fewer than 3 months or on a temporary basis; and (2) employment data from any of its campuses located outside the territorial boundaries of this State. Provides that a certificate of approval of a post-secondary educational institution may be revoked for violation of these provisions.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Private College Act and the Academic Degree Act. Provides that any employment data that a post-secondary educational institution regulated under either of the Acts reports to the Board of Higher Education for the purpose of gaining or retaining required authorization or approval, uses for marketing, advertising, or statistical purposes, or conveys to existing or anticipated students in this State via the Internet or any of its publications or other written or oral communications must set forth the following data separately: (1) recent graduate employment lasting fewer than 3 months; (2) recent graduate employment lasting 3 months or more; (3) recent graduate employment of graduates who are employed on a temporary basis; (4) recent graduate employment of graduates who are employed on a permanent basis; (5) employment data from any of its campuses located within this State; and (6) employment data from any of its campuses located outside the territorial boundaries of this State. Sets forth provisions concerning noncompliance.
