Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Military Leave of Absence Act. Provides that any full-time employee of a public institution of higher education who is a member of any reserve component of the United States Armed Forces or of any reserve component of the Illinois State Militia shall be granted leave from his or her public employment for any period actively spent in military service.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill with the following changes. Requires compensation for military activities, as well as compensation for service as a public employee, to be based on a daily rate of compensation. Sets forth a formula for determining the amount to be offset from an employee's compensation during leaves of absence due to military service. Effective immediately.
