Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the School Code. Provides that a school board may excuse pupils in grades 9 through 12 enrolled in a show choir program for credit from engaging in physical education courses if those pupils request to be excused for ongoing participation in such show choir program. Effective immediately.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the School Code. Provides that a school board may excuse pupils in grades 9 through 12 from engaging in physical education courses if the pupils are enrolled in a show choir program for credit and taught by a licensed teacher, the pupils request to be excused for ongoing participation in the show choir program, the pupils are excused only one semester per school term, and the show choir program emphasizes dance-type movement with singing. Effective immediately.
