| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections |
| 5 | | 10-20.55 and 34-18.48 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 10-20.55. Bring Your Parents to School Day. A school |
| 8 | | board may designate the first Monday in October of each year |
| 9 | | "Bring Your Parents to School Day" to promote parental |
| 10 | | involvement and student success. On this day, the school board |
| 11 | | may permit the parents or guardians of students to attend class |
| 12 | | with their children and meet with teachers and administrators |
| 13 | | during the school day.
