| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Domestic Violence Shelters Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 3 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 1310/3) (from Ch. 40, par. 2403)

| 7 | | Sec. 3.
The
The Department of Human Services shall provide
|
| 8 | | for the funding of
domestic violence shelters and service |
| 9 | | programs in part from the Domestic
Violence
Shelter and Service |
| 10 | | Fund and in part from the General Revenue Fund. In
allotting |
| 11 | | monies from such fund, the Department
shall give priority to |
| 12 | | shelters or programs offering or proposing to offer
the |
| 13 | | broadest range of services and referrals to the community |
| 14 | | served. Such
shelters or programs may be operated by |
| 15 | | community-based organizations or
units of local government. |
| 16 | | The Department shall require shelters or programs
eligible for |
| 17 | | funding under this Act to provide matching funds in such
|
| 18 | | percentage
as the Department shall by rule determine and such |
| 19 | | percentage shall be uniform
throughout the State. |
