AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 997 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 997 as follows:


 
3on page 17, by replacing lines 4 through 17 with the following: 
4        "(1) Any building under the control of the State, 
5    General Assembly, General Assembly support service agency, 
6    including a building in which a committee of the General 
7    Assembly convenes for the purpose of conducting meetings of 
8    committees, joint committees, legislative commissions, and 
9    any property or parking lot area under control of the 
10    General Assembly that is adjacent to or near a prohibited 
11    building in this Section.
12        (2) Any courthouse or part of a building that is 
13    occupied by the Circuit, Appellate, or Supreme Court, any 
14    room designated for court proceedings by any of these 
15    courts, and any property or parking lot area adjacent to or 
16    near courthouses and court buildings.
17        (3) Any building owned or occupied by a governing body

1    of a unit of local government, or any property or parking 
2    lot area adjacent to or near a local government building. 
3    For the purposes of this paragraph, "unit of local 
4    government" means a county, municipality, township, 
5    special district, and unit, designated as a unit of local 
6    government by law, which exercises limited governmental 
7    powers or powers in respect to limited governmental 
8    subjects, but does not include a school district.".
