| 1 | | AN ACT concerning education.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 22-80 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (105 ILCS 5/22-80 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 22-80. CPR training video. |
| 8 | | (a) In this Section: |
| 9 | | "Interscholastic athletics" means all athletic contests or
|
| 10 | | competitions conducted between or among school entities. |
| 11 | | "School entity" means a public school, school district, or |
| 12 | | nonpublic school recognized by the State Board of Education. |
| 13 | | (b) A school entity shall require all physical education |
| 14 | | teachers and all coaches and referees of interscholastic |
| 15 | | athletics, student athletes, and athletic trainers to annually |
| 16 | | watch a training video, provided free of charge to the entity |
| 17 | | and of no more than 15 minutes in length, on hands-only |
| 18 | | cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external |
| 19 | | defibrillators.

| 20 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 21 | | becoming law.
