| 1 | | AN ACT concerning State government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 5 | | Duties Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 | | amended by adding Section 2310-665 as follows:
|
| 7 | | (20 ILCS 2310/2310-665 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 2310-665. Educational materials on streptococcal |
| 9 | | infection. The Department, in conjunction with the Illinois |
| 10 | | State Board of Education, shall develop educational material on |
| 11 | | streptococcal infection for distribution in elementary and |
| 12 | | secondary schools. The material shall include, but not be |
| 13 | | limited to: |
| 14 | | (1) a process to notify parents or guardians of an |
| 15 | | outbreak in the school; |
| 16 | | (2) a process to provide information on all of the |
| 17 | | symptoms of streptococcal to teachers, parents, and |
| 18 | | students; and |
| 19 | | (3) guidelines for schools to control the spread of |
| 20 | | streptococcal infections.

| 21 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 22 | | becoming law.
