| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975 is amended |
| 5 | | by adding Section 31.2 as follows:

| 6 | | (230 ILCS 5/31.2 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 31.2. Automated external defibrillators. Organization |
| 8 | | licensees shall make available no less than 2 automated |
| 9 | | external defibrillators (AEDs) that are operational and |
| 10 | | accessible when backstretch workers are present at their racing |
| 11 | | facilities. At least one AED shall be placed in the paddock of |
| 12 | | their racing facilities. At least one AED shall be placed on |
| 13 | | the backstretch of their racing facilities.
