Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that prior to the commencement of a road construction project which is expected to have a completion time of 3 weeks or more the Department shall provide each business that will be impacted by the project with (1) notice of when road construction will begin, how long it is estimated to last, and a contact within the Department for answering questions or concerns; and (2) a downloadable document on the Department's website for businesses to reduce the impact of the project.

1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the

5 | | Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding |
6 | | Section 2705-610 as follows: |
7 | | (20 ILCS 2705/2705-610 new) |
8 | | Sec. 2705-610. Construction projects. |
9 | | (a) Prior to the commencement of a road construction |
10 | | project which is expected to have a completion time of 3 weeks |
11 | | or more the Department shall: |
12 | | (1) provide each business that will be impacted by the |
13 | | project with notice of when road construction will begin, |
14 | | how long it is estimated to last, and a contact within the |
15 | | Department for answering questions or concerns; and |
16 | | (2) provide a downloadable document on the |
17 | | Department's website with strategies for businesses to |
18 | | reduce the impact of the road construction project.
