AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3006 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3006 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended  by 
5changing Section 1-2-11 as follows:
 



6    (65 ILCS 5/1-2-11)  (from Ch. 24, par. 1-2-11)



7    Sec. 1-2-11. 
(a) A sheriff may serve any process or make 
8any arrest in a
municipality or a part of a municipality 
9located in the county in which the
sheriff was elected that any 
10officer of that municipality is authorized to
make under this 
11Code or any ordinance passed under this Code.

12    (b)  Police officers may serve summons for violations of 
13ordinances
occurring within their municipalities. In 
14municipalities with a population of 1,000,000 or more, active 
15duty or retired police officers may serve summons for 
16violations of ordinances
occurring within their

1municipalities.

2    (c) In addition to the powers
stated in Section 8.1a of the 
3Housing Authorities Act, in counties with a
population of 
43,000,000 or more inhabitants, members of a housing
authority 
5police force may serve process for forcible entry and detainer

6actions commenced by that housing authority and may execute 
7orders of
possession for that housing authority.

9    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
10becoming law.".
