| 1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Animal Welfare Act is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 20.5 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (225 ILCS 605/20.5) |
| 7 | | Sec. 20.5. Administrative fines. The following |
| 8 | | administrative fines shall be imposed by the Department upon |
| 9 | | any person or entity who violates any provision of this Act or |
| 10 | | any rule adopted by the Department under this Act: |
| 11 | | (1) For the first violation, a fine of $500 $200. |
| 12 | | (2) For a second violation that occurs within 3 years |
| 13 | | after the first violation, a fine of $1,000 $500. |
| 14 | | (3) For a third violation that occurs within 3 years |
| 15 | | after the first violation, mandatory probationary status |
| 16 | | and a fine of $2,500 $1,000.
