| 3 | | 2, after "privacy.", by inserting the following:

| 4 | | "Nothing in this amendatory Act of the 98th General Assembly |
| 5 | | extends the period of limitations of any claim of slander, |
| 6 | | libel, or invasion of a right of privacy brought against the |
| 7 | | news media, provided the identity of the news media is |
| 8 | | sufficiently known at the time of the slander, libel, or |
| 9 | | invasion of a right of privacy. As used in this subsection (b), |
| 10 | | "news media" means a newspaper published at regular intervals |
| 11 | | whether in print or electronic format, a news service whether |
| 12 | | in print or electronic format, a radio station, a television |
| 13 | | station, a television network, a community antenna television |
| 14 | | service, or a person or corporation engaged in making news |
| 15 | | reels or other motion picture news for public showing.".
