16 | | representing high school districts. |
17 | | The State Superintendent shall appoint one of the task |
18 | | force members as chairperson of the task force. The task force |
19 | | shall meet at least 4 times to review standardized assessments. |
20 | | This review shall include at least 5% of school districts in |
21 | | this State that represent a regionally equal sampling selected |
22 | | from among those counties of this State other than Cook County |
23 | | and the 5 counties contiguous to Cook County and shall include |
24 | | a school district located in a city having a population over |
25 | | 500,000. The task force shall review the content and design of |
26 | | standardized assessments; the time and money expended to |

1 | | prepare for standardized assessments as measured against the |
2 | | purpose of the assessment; parent, student, and educator |
3 | | perceptions of the level and intensity of standardized |
4 | | assessments; and any other issues involving standardized |
5 | | assessments identified by the task force. The State Board of |
6 | | Education shall provide administrative support to the task |
7 | | force. |
8 | | The task force shall report its findings to the Governor |
9 | | and General Assembly no later than May 31, 2015, and, upon |
10 | | filing its report, the task force is dissolved. This Section is |
11 | | repealed on June 1, 2015.

12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
13 | | 2014.
