| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Medical Patient Rights Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 6 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (410 ILCS 50/6)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 6. Identification badges. A health care facility that |
| 8 | | provides treatment or care to a patient in this
State
shall |
| 9 | | require each employee of or volunteer for the facility, |
| 10 | | including a
student, who examines or treats
a patient or |
| 11 | | resident of the facility to wear an identification badge that
|
| 12 | | readily discloses the first name, licensure status, if any, and |
| 13 | | staff position
of the person examining or treating the patient |
| 14 | | or resident. This Section does not apply to a facility licensed |
| 15 | | or certified under the ID/DD Community Care Act or the |
| 16 | | Community-Integrated Living Arrangements Licensure and |
| 17 | | Certification Act.
