Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that persons with a special issue license plate in the military series are exempted from the payment of fees generated by parking in a metered space or in a publicly owned parking area.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 11-1301.9 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/11-1301.9 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 11-1301.9 . Military plate parking fee exemption. |
| 8 | | (a) For purposes of this Section, "special military |
| 9 | | registration plate" means a license plate issued under Section |
| 10 | | 3-609, 3-609.1, 3-620, 3-621, 3-622, 3-623, 3-624, 3-625, |
| 11 | | 3-626, 3-628, 3-638, 3-642, 3-645, 3-647, 3-649, 3-650, 3-651, |
| 12 | | 3-664, 3-667, 3-668, 3-669, 3-676, 3-677, 3-680, 3-681, 3-683, |
| 13 | | 3-686, 3-688, 3-698, or 3-699 of this Code. |
| 14 | | (b) A vehicle displaying a special military registration |
| 15 | | plate shall be exempt from the payment of fees generated by |
| 16 | | parking in a metered space or in a publicly owned parking area.
