HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

  
 





  
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 
4SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Retail Advisory Committee is 
5created within the Illinois Department of the Lottery; the 
6committee shall be comprised solely of retailers who are 
7lottery vendors; 8 members of the committee shall be appointed 
8as follows: 2 each by the President of the Senate, the Speaker 
9of the House of Representatives, the Minority Leader of the 
10Senate, and the Minority Leader of the House of 
11Representatives; a ninth member who shall serve as chairman 
12shall be appointed by the Governor; the members of the 
13committee shall be appointed in consultation with the 
14following: a statewide association representing convenience 
15stores, a statewide association exclusively representing 
16retailers, and a statewide association exclusively 
17representing food retailers; and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, The committee shall meet no less than quarterly 
19and be utilized by the Department to advise the Department as 
20to the overall direction of the lottery as well as assist the 
21lottery in planning, advertising, and implementation of games 
22and related programs; and be it further
 
23    RESOLVED, The Department of the Lottery shall provide staff

1and administrative support to the committee; and be it further
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to the Department of the Lottery, the Governor, the 
4President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of 
5Representatives, the Minority Leader of the Senate, and the 
6Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
