| 1 | | HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

| 2 | | WHEREAS, During the 98th General Assembly, the Truancy in |
| 3 | | Chicago Public Schools Task Force was established pursuant to |
| 4 | | House Joint Resolution 1 to examine issues and make |
| 5 | | recommendations related to current State Board of Education and |
| 6 | | City of Chicago School District 299 policies regarding truancy |
| 7 | | and excessive absences; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Further work is needed on these issues; therefore, |
| 9 | | be it
|
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 11 | | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 12 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the Truancy in Chicago Public |
| 13 | | Schools Task Force is extended; and be it further
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That the Truancy in Chicago Public Schools Task |
| 15 | | Force shall submit a report, as established in its authorizing |
| 16 | | resolution, on or before July 31, 2014; and be it further
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That with this reporting extension, the Truancy |
| 18 | | in Chicago Public Schools Task Force shall continue to operate |
| 19 | | pursuant to its enabling resolution.
