HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Queen of All 
4Saints Parent Association (QASPA) on being honored with the 
52013 Distinguished Home and School Association by the National 
6Catholic Educational Association; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The award is presented each year to honor home and 
8school associations of Catholic schools and parishes across the 
9United States for creating outstanding programs that enhance 
10the life of the school and parish community; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The QASPA was nominated for its work in promoting 
12parish Mass attendance through the Grade Level Mass Program; 
13participating students are invited to take part in a variety of 
14activities to engage them in the liturgy, before, during, and 
15after the Mass; students participate as cantors, lectors, and 
16choir members, and all participants are prepared by their 
17families with service activities, devotional projects, and 
18other projects connected to the season or theme of the liturgy; 
19and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, The Queen of All Saints parish Mass attendance has 
21noticeably increased with the establishment of the  Grade Level 
22Mass program; refreshments and hospitality gatherings after

1Grade Level Masses are well-attended; these socials build 
2community and increase interaction between school and 
3religious education families; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, The QASPA will receive the 2013 Distinguished Home 
5and School Association Award at a banquet held during the 
6annual convention of the National Catholic Educational 
7Association during Easter week 2013 in Houston, Texas; 
8therefore, be it

  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we congratulate the Queen of All Saints Parent Association on 
12being honored with the 2013 Distinguished Home and School 
13Association by the National Catholic Educational Association; 
14and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the Queen of All Saints Parent Association as an 
17expression of our esteem and respect.
