| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the owners and employees |
| 4 | | of Allegretti's Bakery in Norridge on the occasion of the |
| 5 | | bakery's 50th anniversary; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The history of Allegretti's Bakery began in 1947, |
| 7 | | when Anthony Allegretti Sr. came back from World War II after |
| 8 | | having been assigned to baking and cooking for his fellow |
| 9 | | soldiers; he subsequently decided to create his own recipes and |
| 10 | | start his own Italian bakery in Chicago, his Italian desserts |
| 11 | | and specialties becoming a favorite in the neighborhood; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, As Anthony Allegretti Sr.'s bakery and family grew |
| 13 | | larger, he decided to move his bakery to a location on Lawrence |
| 14 | | Avenue in the suburb of Norridge in 1962, where it has remained |
| 15 | | ever since; after his unexpected passing in 1973, Michael "ACE" |
| 16 | | Allegretti, with the help of his siblings, Anthony Jr., Tom, |
| 17 | | Linda, and Carol have kept the business going strong; |
| 18 | | therefore, be it
