HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Davis O'Brien; and

WHEREAS, Mary Davis O'Brien celebrated her 90th birthday in December 2012; she married Daniel Patrick O'Brien Sr. in 1944 and moved to Chicago where they raised a family of 6; and

WHEREAS, Mary Davis O'Brien and her husband, Dan, were co-founders of the O'Brien businesses; they had businesses in real estate, restaurants, and in the nursing home industry; they loved being partners in work as well as partners in life; and

WHEREAS, Mary Davis O'Brien was the dearly beloved wife of the late Daniel Patrick O'Brien Sr.; devoted mother of Maureen O'Brien, Margaret (Richard) O'Brien Schulze, Peter (Mary) O'Brien Sr., and the late Honorable Daniel P. (Susan) O'Brien Jr., former Cook County Commissioner, Illinois State Senator, and Illinois State Representative, the late Kathleen (Charles) O'Brien Stumpf and the late Patricia O'Brien; loving grandmother of Daniel O'Brien III, Kevin (Alpha) Willis, Brien Willis, Katie Willis-Morton, Bridget Stumpf, Charles Stumpf, Jim (Michelle) West, Courtney (David) Blaskovich, Brad (Elizabeth) West, Derek (Emily) Schulze, Jeffrey Mandalis, Daniel Mandalis, Maureen "Reenie" O'Brien, Meghan O'Brien, Caitlin O'Brien, and the late Peter O'Brien Jr.; great-grandmother of 19; dear sister of Peter J. (Jane) Davis Jr. and 5 late sisters; and fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Davis O'Brien, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Davis O'Brien as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
