HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Philip Leable on the 
4occasion of his retirement from Benton Township after 41 years 
5of dedicated service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Philip Leable began his career in Benton Township 
7with the Benton Township Highway Department, where he served 
8for 5 years; he was subsequently elected to serve as Highway 
9Commissioner, a position he served in faithfully for 20 years; 
10following his tenure as Highway Commissioner, he was elected to 
11the position of Benton Town Clerk, where he will serve until 
12his retirement on May 8, 2013; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Philip Leable has been an active member of his 
14community; he served as Treasurer of the North Point Methodist 
15Church for over 35 years; he served for 12 years on the North 
16Prairie School Board; he also served as President of the Lake 
17County Township Highway Commissioner's Association for 8 years 
18and served as President of the Winthrop Harbor Lions Club, 
19where he continues as an active member; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, In 2011, Philip Leable was awarded the William Z. 
21Ahrends Award by the Township Clerks of Illinois at their 
22annual convention for his high level of professionalism; and

1    WHEREAS, Philip Leable and his loving wife, Marge, have 
2lived in Benton Township since 1953; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Philip Leable on the occasion of his retirement 
6and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and 
7be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Philip Leable as a symbol of our esteem and 
10respect.
