HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Craig M. Gilmore on the occasion of his retirement from State Farm; and

WHEREAS, After nearly 40 years of service to State Farm policyholders, Director of Multicultural Markets and Agency Field Executive Craig Gilmore, CPCU, will retire effective April 1, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Following his graduation from Illinois State University, Craig Gilmore began his State Farm career in 1973 as an auto underwriter in Bloomington; after 3 years in underwriting and a year as an operations supervisor, he spent 10 years in human resources, which included work in Illinois and Texas and 2 tours of duty at the corporate headquarters; and

WHEREAS, In 1988, Craig Gilmore became a scratch agent (new market) in Chicago and 3 years later became an agency manager; he moved from agency field leadership to an agency field executive in 1995 and then became State Farm's first regional director of multicultural markets; and

WHEREAS, Craig Gilmore has been an active community leader, chairman of the board of directors for 100 Black Men of Chicago Inc., and a dedicated member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Nu Psi Lambda chapter; and

WHEREAS, Craig Gilmore plans to stay active in various community, civic, and business ventures; he plans to enjoy traveling, bicycling, fitness, reading, concerts, and spending time with his wife, Judy, his family, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Craig Gilmore on his retirement from State Farm after almost 40 years, thank him for his service, and wish him well in all his future endeavours; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Craig Gilmore as an expression of our esteem and respect.
