HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to honor Vallarie Franchesca Perez 
4on her accomplishments; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Vallarie Perez's most recent accolade was being 
6crowned the International Jr. Miss Teen Illinois Winner on 
7March 25, 2012; she uses her status to speak to young adults 
8and girls in the State to discuss the ongoing battle with teen 
9bullying; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Vallarie Perez currently attends North Central 
11College in Naperville; her focus is on broadcasting and 
12journalism so she can pursue her dream to become a television 
13news reporter; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Vallarie Perez serves her community as much as she 
15can in her spare time; she has contributed a total of 141 hours 
16of service; she has volunteered at Horner Park Northwest Little 
17League on Chicago's north side, at the First Congregational 
18Church of Chicago, and for the Cook County Board of Review; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Among Vallarie Perez's accomplishments she has 
20received an Honors Academic Scholarship for North Central 
21College and the North Central Alumni Scholarship; she is the

1current title holder of International Junior Miss Illinois 
22012, the 1st runner-up in the America's Perfect Teen Pageant 
32011, and won the Broadcast Journalism Award Perfect Teen 2011; 
4in 2010, she finished in the top 15 in the Illinois Teen USA 
5Pageant; she won the AJ Wright Model Search in April 2010, the 
6Quinceanera's Magazine Cover Girl 2009, and won back-to-back 
7city championships with Lane Tech varsity softball in 2009 and 
82010; therefore, be it

  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we honor Vallarie Perez on her myriad of accomplishments so far 
12in her life and wish her well in her pursuit of her future 
13dreams; and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to Vallarie Perez as an expression of our esteem and 
16respect.
