HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  the members of the Quincy 
4Notre Dame Lady Raiders girls basketball team on the occasion 
5of winning the IHSA 2013 Class 3A State Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders defeated Vernon 
7Hills 62-45 to win the IHSA Class 3A Championship game at the 
8ISU Redbird Arena in Normal on March 2, 2013; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders finished their 
10season with a perfect 30-0 record, the second such time in the 
11program's history; the team has gone 124-5 over the past four 
12years and has won 53 consecutive games and 79 straight against 
13in-state competition; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, This victory marks the Quincy Notre Dame Lady 
15Raiders' third straight State Championship, the culmination of 
16a three-peat; the Lady Raiders are only the fourth team in IHSA 
17history to three-peat; and

  
 
18    WHEREAS, The members of the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders 
19are Shelby Ulrich, Kristen Gengenbacher, Olivia Hyer, Abby 
20Grawe, Ericka Obert, Kassidy Gengenbacher, Quenna Keating, 
21Jordan Frericks, Maggie Schwartz, Mary Beth Hugenberg, Sarah

1Arnold, Cassidy Foley, and Hannah Marcolla; the student 
2assistants are Alyx Wilkins, Ann Marie Rhatigan-Meyer, 
3Mackenzie Doane, Shelby Connell, Ashley Wensing, Sarah Lewis, 
4and Danielle Reed; the trainer is Jay Zanger;

the bookkeepers 
5are Beth Cash, Rob Arnold, Ray Weast, and Tracy Orne;

the 
6statistics keeper is Frank Cash; the team's head coach is Eric 
7Orne and the assistant coaches are Kevin Meyer and Mark Longo; 
8therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
10NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we congratulate the members of the Quincy Notre Dame Lady 
12Raiders girls basketball team on the occasion of winning the 
13IHSA 2013 Class 3A State Championship and wish them continued 
14success and happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the Quincy Notre Dame Lady Raiders girls 
17basketball team as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
