HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Thomas and Mary Ellen 
4Dolan of Highland Park on the occasion of their 50th wedding 
5anniversary on March 19, 2013; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Thomas and Mary Ellen Dolan were married on March 
719, 1963, at the Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Thomas and Mary Ellen Dolan have two daughters, 
9Rachel and Clare, and three beloved granddaughters, Meghan, 
10Alexandra, and Caitlyn; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Thomas Dolan has worked at DePaul University in 
12Chicago for nearly 45 years and, at 80 years old, is still a 
13full-time university administrator and part-time educator; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Dolan was an editor of Bruce 
15Publishing's Catholic Book Club; she also raised their children 
16and worked from home as a small magazine and manuscript editor; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, For five decades, Thomas and Mary Ellen Dolan have 
19supported one another through all of life's trials and 
20tribulations and have stood by each other through life's many

1joys and triumphs; and
 
2    WHEREAS, The longevity of this marriage is a result of the 
3love, hard work, and dedication that this couple has invested 
4and truly marks a milestone in life's journey; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Thomas and Mary Ellen Dolan on the occasion of 
8their golden wedding anniversary and wish them happiness and 
9good health in the future; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Thomas and Mary Ellen Dolan as a symbol of our 
12esteem and respect.
