HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of  Tesla 
4Felician Rogers, who passed away on January 25, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers was born on March 24, 1981; her 
6parents were Tamra Rogers and Rufus Allen Ross Smith; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers was baptized at an early age at 
8Sacred Heart Catholic Church; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers attended Amos Alonzo Stagg 
10Elementary School and graduated from Olive Harvey Middle 
11College in 1999; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers began her career at Rainbow Clothing 
13Store after college; she started as a sales rep in 2006 and 
14worked her way up to junior manager; she was later promoted to 
15co-manager in 2010, where she remained until her passing; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers enjoyed poetry, art, hairdressing, 
17fashion, music, and sports, especially the Chicago Bears; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers was preceded in death by her 
19great-grandmother, Little Simpson; her grandparents, Woody and

1Dorothy Smith; her aunt, Artina Rogers; and her cousins, 
2Saraphina "Star" Henderson and Daniel "Dan-Dan" Little; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Tesla Rogers is survived by her loving parents, 
4Mr. and Mrs. Brian Coleman; her brother, Allen "Rufus" Rogers; 
5her fiance, Kenyatte Watson; her grandmothers, Carolyn Rogers 
6and Beverly Leusuer (Georgia); her grandfather, Issac Coleman 
7(Ann); her aunts, Tabitha Rogers, Gale Jenkins, Martha McCray, 
8Charlotte Smith, and Myra Smith; her great-aunt, Eleanor 
9Jackson; her uncles, Druleon Rogers (Roxanne), Shawn Travis, 
10Jeffery Travis (Denise), Brian Rodgers, Andre Banks, Denzel 
11Rogers, Jordan Rogers, Jaquoar Rogers, and Jeremy Coleman; her 
12many cousins; her godmother, Jewel Rodgers; her godfather, 
13Druleon Rogers; her best friends, Toneil Edwards and Chanda 
14Allen; her godson, Dejuan Lee; and her many friends, including 
15Keisha, Von, Charelle, RayRay, and Eric; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
17NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
18we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of 
19Tesla Felician Rogers; and be it further
  
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
21presented to the family of Tesla Rogers as an expression of our 
22sympathy.
