HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  the members of the Illini 
4Central Cougars boys basketball team for winning the IHSA Class 
51A State Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Illini Central Cougars defeated Madison High 
7School 55-44 to achieve victory in the IHSA Class 1A State 
8Championship; the team ended their season with a phenomenal 
928-5 record; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Illini Central Cougars set a school record for 
11longest winning streak at 17 games and tied a school record for 
12most victories in a season at 28; their victory also marks the 
13school's first State Championship in any sport or activity; and

  
 
14    WHEREAS, The members of the Illini Central boys basketball 
15team are Cole Allen, Cody Curry, Jordan Lynn, Derrick Himmel, 
16Justin Luft, Jesse Thompson, Ean Albers, Grant Bale, Jordan 
17Bradshaw, Jared Entwistle, Noah Kirby, Connor Martin, Duncan 
18McClure, Willie Neuendorf, and Justin Onken; the team's head 
19coach is John Giesler and the assistant coaches are Colby 
20Bunner, Scott Francis, and Tony Wherley; therefore, be it
  
 
21    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate the members of the Illini Central Cougars boys 
3basketball team for winning the IHSA Class 1A State 
4Championship and wish them continued success and happiness in 
5the future; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the Illini Central Cougars boys basketball team as 
8a symbol of our esteem and respect.
