HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Ken Toftoy as he steps 
4down from his position as Kendall County Republican Central 
5Committee chairman; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Ken Toftoy has spent over 30 years working for the 
7Republican cause in Kendall County; he was elected chairman of 
8the Republican Central Committee in 2010; and
  
 
  
9    WHEREAS, Ken Toftoy is the Kendall County coroner and 
10precinct committeeman for Kendall County Ward 3; he has been 
11coroner since 1992 and was re-elected last fall with 60% of the 
12vote; when first elected, he took the coroner's office from an 
13off-site location and established the first coroner's office on 
14the site of the government complex by utilizing donated 
15equipment from Copley Hospital; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Ken Toftoy is highly respected among coroners 
17throughout Illinois; he is a current member of the Illinois 
18Coroner's & Medical Examiner's Association and served  as 
19president 2001; he served concurrently as a fireman/paramedic 
20with the Oswego Fire Department for over 20 years and serves as 
21the chaplain for the Major Crimes Task Force in Kendall County 
22and as a member of the Chiefs of Police; and

1    WHEREAS, Ken Toftoy has been involved in many community 
2activities ranging from prom programs to inform juniors and 
3seniors about the dangers of drinking and driving to 
4volunteering time and supporting various charities such as the 
5Polar Plunge at Silver Springs; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ken Toftoy is married to Dale Hornyan-Toftoy and 
7they reside in Yorkville; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ken Toftoy's resignation was official on March 1, 
92013; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we congratulate Ken Toftoy as he steps down from his position 
13as Kendall County Republican Central Committee chairman and 
14wish him all the best in his future endeavours; and be it 
15further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Ken Toftoy as an expression of our esteem and 
18respect.
