HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Joe Jedlovec on the 
4occasion of his retirement as the Winfield Township Highway 
5Commissioner after 24 years of dedicated service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Joe Jedlovec is a lifelong resident of Winfield 
7Township; he and his wife, Mary, have 3 children and 4 
8grandchildren; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Joe Jedlovec served his country with pride as a 
10member of the United States Army from 1967 to 1969; he was the 
11recipient of two Bronze Stars and numerous other medals and 
12honors for his meritorious service; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Joe Jedlovec was employed as a senior civil 
14engineer with the DuPage County Division of Transportation 
15Engineering and Road Construction Department from 1969 to 1989; 
16in 1989, he began his service as the Winfield Township Highway 
17Commissioner, where he served until his retirement; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Joe Jedlovec served as a Republican Precinct 
19Committeeman for 23 years and served as Vice Chairman from 1997 
20to 2001 and as Chairman from 2001 to 2005; he also served as 
21Vice President of the DuPage County Highway Commissioners

1Association (2001-2013), President of the Northern Illinois 
2Highway Commissioners Association (1993-1999), Secretary 
3(1992-1997), Vice President (1998-2000), and President 
4(2000-2002) of the Highway Division of Township Officials of 
5Illinois, and a member of the Board of Directors for Township 
6Officials of Illinois (2000-2013); and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Joe Jedlovec is a member of VFW Post 6791 and 
8American Legion Post 300; he is also an active member of the 
9West Chicago Lions club and served as the club's president from 
102010 to 2012; therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate Joe Jedlovec on the occasion of his retirement 
14and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and 
15be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Joe Jedlovec as a symbol of our esteem and 
18respect.
