| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate James T. Sullivan |
| 4 | | on the occasion of his retirement as business manager of |
| 5 | | Plumbers Local 130; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, James Sullivan was initiated into Plumbers Local |
| 7 | | 130 on October 14, 1965, as an apprentice plumber while working |
| 8 | | for Wesensten Plumbing; he excelled in school and ran a close |
| 9 | | second in the annual apprentice contest which was then held at |
| 10 | | Purdue University; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, James Sullivan received his Journeyman card and |
| 12 | | then went to work for Great Lakes Plumbing, where he worked on |
| 13 | | many prominent buildings such as McCormick Place and the Willis |
| 14 | | Tower; he rose through the ranks at Great Lakes Plumbing, |
| 15 | | eventually becoming general superintendent of plumbing; he |
| 16 | | left in 1990 to work full time for Plumbers Local 130; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, James Sullivan's first role at Plumbers Local 130 |
| 18 | | was that of sergeant-at-arms in 1975, then executive board |
| 19 | | vice-president, and eventually financial secretary-treasurer |
| 20 | | in 1990; he was appointed assistant business manager in |
| 21 | | February 2002, elected business manager in July 2002, and then |
| 22 | | re-elected for a total of 3 terms; and
