HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Laurie Petersen on 
4winning the Heart of the School award presented by the 
5Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen is a nurse at Saint John of the 
7Cross School; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Each year the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic 
9Schools names 14 faculty and staff members in recognition of 
10outstanding, unique, and innovative accomplishments in 7 
11categories; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen rose to the top in the "Behind the 
13Scenes" category as she is a non-administrative staff person 
14who contributes to the unique program successes; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen not only cares for children who 
16become ill during the day, but she performs mandated screening 
17for vision and hearing, communicates with parents and staff on 
18students' medical conditions, and she is up-to-date on all 
19current trends of the profession; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Laurie Petersen was selected out of 589 nominees

1from the 6,000 plus educators across the Archdiocese; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Laurie Petersen on winning the Heart of the 
6School award, thank her for her service to those she cares for, 
7and wish her well in all her future endeavours; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Laurie Petersen as an expression of our esteem and 
11respect.
