HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sacred 
4Heart-Griffin High School junior Ryan Held on his recent 
5success in the sport of swimming; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Ryan Held won the 50-yard freestyle and set a new 
7record at the YMCA Nationals swim meet in Greensboro, North 
8Carolina, on April 3, 2013; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Ryan Held finished in 19.92 seconds, becoming the 
10first swimmer to go under 20 seconds at the meet, a personal 
11best; previously he finished second in the 50-yard freestyle at 
12the Illinois High School Association State meet in February; 
13his previous best time in the 50-yard freestyle was 20.27 as he 
14placed second at the State meet; and
  
 

  
15    WHEREAS, Ryan Held put up All-American times in both the 
16preliminaries and finals in the 100 yard freestyle and won the 
17State championship with a time of :44.43, beating his nearest 
18competitor by a full second; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
21we congratulate Ryan Held on winning the 50-yard freestyle and

3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Ryan Held as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
