| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are honored to congratulate Cyril A. "Bud" |
| 4 | | Stobaugh Jr. on the occasion of his retirement as Mayor of the |
| 5 | | City of Farmington; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh was born on October 23, 1931, to |
| 7 | | Cyril A. Stobaugh Sr. and Mary Boldys; he graduated from |
| 8 | | Farmington Community High School in 1949; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh began working for the Caterpillar |
| 10 | | Tractor Company on February 6, 1950; he retired as a technical |
| 11 | | writer in the Service Information Department in January of |
| 12 | | 1991, after 41 years of dedicated service; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh voluntarily enlisted in the United |
| 14 | | States Air Force on April 4, 1951, and served during the Korean |
| 15 | | War; he was honorably discharged on November 13, 1953, and held |
| 16 | | the designation of inactive reserve for 8 years until the end |
| 17 | | of the war; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Bud Stobaugh was a member of the Farmington City |
| 19 | | Council and served as the City of Farmington Police |
| 20 | | Commissioner for 8 years; he was elected to a 2-year term as |
| 21 | | Mayor of Farmington on April 1, 2003, and served 2 four-year |
