HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate  Laurie Cvengros on the 
4occasion of her retirement after 24 years of dedicated service 
5as Village Clerk of the Village of Beach Park; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Laurie Cvengros has been Village Clerk of the 
7Village of Beach Park since its incorporation in 1989; she was 
8elected 6 consecutive times and has served with three different 
9mayors and 18 trustees; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, During Laurie Cvengros' tenure, the Village has 
11grown from 8,000 to more than 13,400 people; the village's 
12board meetings started out in various local schools, but are 
13now held in the beautiful Village Hall; her proudest 
14achievements have been in the areas of parks and recreation and 
15serving those with special needs; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, In 1992, Laurie Cvengros became a Certified 
17Municipal Clerk in the State of Illinois; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Laurie Cvengros served as Vice President and as 
19Secretary of the Lake County Municipal Clerks for 4 years; she 
20also served on the Attorney General's Recreational 
21Opportunities for People of Disabilities Task Force from 2001

1to 2004; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, In 2002, Laurie Cvengros received the prestigious 
3Woman of Achievement Award from the Office of the Lieutenant 
4Governor; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Following her retirement, Laurie Cvengros and her 
6husband, Andy, plan to continue to reside in the Village, 
7travel, and enjoy life; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Laurie Cvengros on the occasion of her 
11retirement and wish her continued success and happiness in the 
12future; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Laurie Cvengros as a symbol of our esteem and 
15respect.
