| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Ronald A. Oppedisano on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of his retirement after many years of service to | ||||||
| 5 | the people of Norridge; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Ronald A. Oppedisano moved to Norridge in 1961 and | ||||||
| 7 | graduated from Divine Savior School with the class of 1969; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, In 1975, at the age of 19, Ronald Oppedisano | ||||||
| 9 | became the youngest person ever to be licensed by the State of | ||||||
| 10 | Illinois for real estate sales; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, In 1991, Ronald Oppedisano was appointed by Mayor | ||||||
| 12 | Joseph Sieb to serve as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals | ||||||
| 13 | for the Village of Norridge; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, In 1998, Ronald Oppedisano was appointed Chairman | ||||||
| 15 | of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Norridge; | ||||||
| 16 | that same year, he was appointed to Village Trustee, a position | ||||||
| 17 | which he was elected to in 1999, 2003, and 2007; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, As Village Trustee, Ronald Oppedisano served as | ||||||
| 19 | the Chairman of the Streets, Sidewalks, Alleys, and Information | ||||||
| 20 | Technology Committees; he also served as a member of the Law | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | and Ordinance and Village Properties/Economic Development | ||||||
| 2 | Committees; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano led the way for the formulation | ||||||
| 4 | of a Master Plan for Norridge and served as a member of the | ||||||
| 5 | Emergency Telephone System Board; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, In 2009, Ronald Oppedisano was elected as Norridge | ||||||
| 7 | Village President following the death of his friend and Village | ||||||
| 8 | President, Earl J. Field; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano has volunteered countless hours | ||||||
| 10 | as a coach in various Norridge Youth Activities sports programs | ||||||
| 11 | and with the Ridgewood High School Parents club; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano is the owner of a real estate | ||||||
| 13 | appraisal and consulting firm, having been awarded the MAI, | ||||||
| 14 | CAE, and CIAO professional appraisal designations; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Ronald Oppedisano and his wife, Linda, have raised | ||||||
| 16 | 3 children, Tina, Lisa, and Vince, in the Village of Norridge; | ||||||
| 17 | all of them have been model citizens and pillars of the | ||||||
| 18 | community; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 20 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||

| 1 | we congratulate Ronald A. Oppedisano on the occasion of his | ||||||
| 2 | retirement, thank him for his many years of honorable and | ||||||
| 3 | dedicated service to the Village of Norridge and to the State | ||||||
| 4 | of Illinois, and wish him success in all of his future | ||||||
| 5 | endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to Ronald Oppedisano as an expression of our esteem | ||||||
| 8 | and respect.
